I grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. and from a young age understood the importance of the bond between pets and humans. It is what drove me through eight years of college to become a doctor of veterinary medicine. I attended Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in 1989. My dislike of cold weather and snow originated from those years in Buffalo. I next attended Cornell University where I received my doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 1993. Another four years of cold weather led me back south to New Jersey
